Do you honestly think the UK needs more cameras ?

We have more cameras watching us that pretty much anywhere else in the world.

Doesnt seem to stop crime though.

And using cameras for the sole purpose of fining motorists surely isnt their most useful purpose ?

no. but dick heads on the phone and tail gaters get away with it to much imo

when they are not used for revenue generation fine, but most are setup for the government to take money off of us (in my humble but never the less correct opinion ! In built up areas or near a schools these are a good idea but on motorways with low traffic density not so. Infact there should be places where you can legaly go flat out if it is safe!

how fucking big is his forehead!!!!!!!!!!!!

and why the fuck are they looking for more and more ways to fuck the motorist in the arse while pretending to "make the roads safer"

If these cameras were set up to automatically shoot people with no concept of lane discipline...it's a pretty safe bet there would be far less tailgating.

Are tailgaters the main problem ? I dont think so, but are they an easier target ? Of course.

So the cameras wouldnt be tackling the cause of the problem.

Phone use is debatable. Under some circumstances I'd say the risks are low, other they are high. I see dozens of people on a daily basis using their phones whilst driving though. Most not even trying to hide it at all. Including some dummies who think holding the phone in front of their face on loudspeaker means it isnt to their ear so they arent on the phone lol

But Ive seen everyone from farmers right through to the police using their phones whilst driving. Some safely, some definitely not safely. A fixed site camera will never be able to distinguish

Because when they attach a tag like road safety to such a scheme, the naive and stupid are brainwashed into thinking it's a good thing.
And there's a hell of a lot of naive and fucking stupid people about.

That pretty much covers it in my experience. Although you forgot to add the way that they will tell you if you don't agree with their propaganda you don't care about road safety and are treated as though you drive through kids play areas like you're playing Grand Theft Auto and club baby seals to death for an evenings entertainment:roll:

Looks like more easy meat thinking by are so call master , I love this land but am starting to hate being here .

dojj Feb 11, 2012 06:10 PM

it also seems that you need to have an operator there to move the camera head around

and if you wern't doing what the camera says you were doing, how do you prove it?

The government do not care about road safety, they prove it on a daily basis. There are so many things they could do to genuinely improve it, yet they dont bother their arse. it's all about fines for doing no harm.

As for proving guilt etc.

Every aspect of motoring law has been twisted so the motorist is guilty until proven innocent. They offer no legal aid, so you're guilty until you can pay for your own justice.
And with camera offences....they actually put you under threat to admit guilt or they'll convict you regardless !!

Seriously, the legal system is totally and utterly fucked up when it comes to motoring.

incorrect. its all about fines to make money..... doing harm or not is irrelevant. Anything they can use to get easy money they will exploit.

the change to "guilty whatever you claim" and the harsher penaltys for challenging the system are purely designed to make people give up fighting and just pay up the FPN or court fine.

Us motorists are now just a cash cow for the government and they have perfect excuses we cannot argue with eg road safety, environment etc.
