Uber Cheap Cars To Insure??
Going to buy myself a cheap shitter to run about in as I'm sick to death of TWATS using my Golf as an indicator as to when they need to stop reversing to get out of the parking spaces where I live!!! Still gonna keep my Golf but will leave that parked safely at my Parents house over the other side of town, and just use the shitter to run about in day to day and won't be worried about leaving it parked outside my pad where the neighbours clearly can't f**k**g drive!!
Anyway moving on, I'm after something extreeeeemely cheap to not only buy but also insure! Not particularly fussed what it is but any ideas what I should be looking at which will be silly cheap to insure from any of your previous experiences??

i also had a 106 1.1 as a runaround.mid 40's mpg and managed 80 on the motorway. disposable motoring at its cheapest.
FSH , 40000 miles, 1 year mot and 5 months tax for about £500 iirc.

Saxo vts. Cheap to buy, easy enough to insure, quite quick for what they are, and your garaunteed a quick sale to a boy racer at the end.
Watch out for crunchy gearboxes, rear axle play, power steering pumps, leaky sunroofs and rot on the rear chassis legs and rear inner arches.
When them bits are quite good, the car will be quite reliable. I have never had a saxo that has actually broke down. Just had 1 with rear axle play (6 months after it passed mot) and had another with a leaky sunroof, 2 piece crank pulley rubber failing and after it lay up the crank sensor condensated and wouldnt start...sensor out, cleaned and back in. Sorted!
Also cheap to repair if they do give bother

I ran a 205 dturbo when i first got cossie, i paid £350 for it, cost me about the same to insure it and by the time i got ride of it, i used to love it, literally.
I'd walk out the house to go for a fun drive, and had the choice of my saff, or a derv 205, 9 times out of 10 i was in the 205.
Prices are climbing on them though .

I got a quote on a saxo 1.5 diesel and it was £600. I then got a quote on a 330d touring and that was £900. Fuck running a shitty car for the sake of 300 sheets a year difference!

It was more for me, I have been unsure whether to go for a money saving shitter or something decent.
Trouble is 3 years ago a new rs4 was only £1100 for me to insure when I got a quote!

£134 fully comp
£118 6 months tax
£45 MOT it passed just needing a rear bulb at £1.65
It's a 205 style diesel..70k from new... And the fuel economy is just brilliant... Had a good laff earlier in it... A lad pulled upto at side of me in a mk1 fiesta and started laughing so I wound the window down and showed him my screensaver of the 3dr and said this is my weekend toy ... He soon stopped laughing lol.
