car been sat for a few weeks and battery needs a charge (not insured so cant take it for a drive) if I take the battery off to charge it will it affect the alarm or immobilizer, last thing I want is immobilizer problems when I reconnect the battery! Thanks

You can buy an adaptor that you plug into the cigarette lighter one end and the mains the other if that's any good to you mate so you don't lose anything. Only about a fiver from car acc shops iirc.

I have come across immobiliser problems when I've changed batteries on Clio's before but all I do is to leave the ignition for 5 minutes, switch off and then start the car.

The above has worked everytime for me!
