MK 2 Golf gti
i need some help guys
my mk2 8v gti (1990) seems to have snap acceleration.
while driving slowly over speed humps or in slow traffic i then go to accelerate and it just jerks forward and wont accel smoothly as it should , however it doesn't do it all the time and its just while traveling slowly.
any ideas?
ive changed the !
plugs
leads
dizzy cap and arm
oil and filters including fuel.
not sure what else to do?

check the throttle cable, butterflies and throttle sensors/switches are working ok.
these golfs have a twin throttle housing. small butterfly for town and slow stuff and then when you put your foot down some more you get the bug butterfly opening. the sensors i'm on about are like little switches that tell the ecu when its on full throttle iirc or when the small butterfly is fully open. its been a while since i worked on one but you'll see them easily on top of the throttle body.
