Hello, at the moment my erst has had all the mounts fitted for the 170 gearbox, im looking to change to the frs, what i need to know is do both boxes use the same mount positions as the shell will be going for paint very soon so i can get the changes made before hand.also will the cable selectors be the same to just swap over? Mounts are the same.

Just ned to fit focus RS cables / gear lever etc.

use transit connect cables as they are shorter in lenth and look better in the bay

Thats good news, which box are people using, mk1 or 2 box or are they the same. With the cost of the flywheel and clutch for the 170 makes sense to look into the rs box as i can just use the 2.0 zetec flywheel and frs clutch. Or am i wrong? And will it require any engine bay mods as there is loads of spare room with the st box.

What kind of prices do the boxes go for?

Use the mk1 box and yes 2.0 focus flywheel and focus RS clutch.

Inner wing will also need cutting for the box to go in (gearbox side). Boxes can be between 350 and 600.

Cheers mate, is there much work needed to the inner wing, does this make the wing any weaker?

Nope just needs 10/15cm cut from the bottom of the wing in a semi circle shape. There's pics on my rest thread of mine.
