Default Rolling Tax Exemption for Classics

Not sure if you young'uns will be interested, but just in case here's a link to the E-PETITION

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/183

The previous government (if you could call then that ) stopped the rolling 25yr rule, so it's time to remind the current government (as above, a loose term in this instance) to give a little bit back.

Your Lordship, if I may be so bold, These petitions do the rounds every 6 months or so, and with the financial trouble this country is in, I would very much doubt the goverment are going to give up the chance of squeezing us out of a little bit more money for those that have vehicles that are over 25-30 years.

Its a great idea and Id love free tax on my Cossie, but It wont happen in my lifetime.

A sweeping statement indeed Stephen, of course you may be quite correct, dependent on your lifetime of course

However, I'm of the opinion that it never hurts to try, especially as there is no cost to do so.

Of course, if it does come to fruition I would feel almost responsible if you left this mortal coil at the very same instant

Bloody marvelous chaps, thank you. Every journey has to start with a first step & yes, give it time & hopefully you'll reap the benefit of that which you sow, & one day your Cosworths & RS's etc etc will ride for free. (apart from fuel of course )
