any saff/sierra cossie 2wd with the same power as a saff cossie 4b4 will be quicker because of transmission losses

Saying a equivalent powered 2wd is faster than a 4wd in a untrue statement imo.
Anyway I'm not getting into a 4wd/Rwd arguement cos I don't have either

Sapphire Cosworths are driven on bumpy, broken/multi surfaced, multi-grease/oil/dirt covered roads which are also wet half the time.
Yes the 2wd is quicker above 2nd gear in the dry...but the 4wd is quicker below 4th gear in the wet.
Either way
"any saff/sierra cossie 2wd with the same power as a saff cossie 4b4 will be quicker because of transmission losses"
ISN'T CORRECT
I rest my case

PassionFord Post Whore!!
it is purely down to driving style. i have had mine snaking all over the road in 2nd gear in the dry. But i have also managed to have 90% traction from a standing start in the dry. If you want it out its easy, if you want it in a straight line its difficult whilst driving hard imo. I find that tight bends in the wet driving extra slow is the scariest as you think your safe cause your driving slow, but can catch you out without warning. O and you need to concentrate 100% and dont think you have got it sussed and get cocky cause you will end up in a ditch

20K+ Super Poster.
RWD aint as bad as people think... lol
drive the car normally and you wont even realise its RWD.
dump the clutch in 2nd on full boost round a 90degree bend in the snow and thats a different matter
imho if youre looking at <300bhp then as far as straight line dry stuff goes you really wont go THAT much quicker in a 4x4... 2wds do still grip very very well
mine's only about 200bhp... but if driven/launched sensibly i can still get a blinding start. and my old XR4i (150bhp) never had any traction issues whatsoever!
