making evo transfer box fit mondeo
anyone know what would actually be involved in doing this? obviously ignoring the bolting up issue.
say for example i had the casing modified to bolt to the mondeo 4x4 box,and had the shafts splines to fit into the evo transfer box, what else would need to be considered? I would also run evo rear setup with modded prop.............
any ideas/ info would be a great help...

Because a ford one is shite. Why chuck loads of money at something thats always gonna be crap. If evos can take it, then my light 350bhp mk1 fiesta wont put any stress on it..
Ive looked into uprating the mondeo unit, and although it can be uprated, its design still isnt great. Quaife also do not do diffs for either end of the mondeo which is a problem so it seems pointless looking at modding the transfer box now as the box still wont have a diff.
So now will look into cuatom behousings or spacer plates to fit either full running gear inc box out of either evo stuff or audi tt. TT seems a better option

Ive got an mtx box in my mk1 fez so would be better to go with the mondeo stuff but its just not reliable enough and will never be proper 4wd. Even the fact the mondeo puts 60% power to the front which would be better i think for the mk1, i just dont want to throw money at something that could still break when used in anger.

From what ive been told yes. They are better than the rs 2000 stuff but still small. Could improve them with better metal materials, and running a diff cooler setup as they hold very little oil so not only will it keep the oil cooler which overheating seems to cause most failures but it will also increase oil capacity. Not cheap for this little lot and the design still isnt great so can only be uprated so far. And as meantioned you cannot get quaife diffs for either the front or back...

i mst of re rea it wron as i thought u were on about just using the transfer box and rear diff off an evo
but now reading what you want your going to have tolook into custom flywheels, and cevo clutches aswell as hydraulic clutch set up for an evo gearbpx, custom bell housing etc etc
id do what chip says just fit the evo lump aswell, more tunable, plenty power in stock form aswell

Rep mobile?? Its in a mk1 fiesta... Not a mondeo.
As for fitting the engine as well .... I know that would be easier, but i want to keep the engine ford.
If i wereto change the lot i would go 20v turbo over evo as its cheaper and easy to drag 400bhp out of and in a car that is gonna weigh about 740kgs will be fast enough...
