Default Smokey diesel

Can someone help I've got 2008 diesel van done about 48k miles when I'm accelarating along the road there is always big pluff of black smoke is this normal I know old diesels do it but didn't expect it from a new dieselS

New diesels can be worse than old ones

Maybe egr issues tho ?

is it holding back on power at all?

if it is and then a big surge of power its at a guess the egr,could be an injector problem also. a split intercooler pipe will cause this but a sucking noise will always be heard.

i would clean out the egr valve.

Try some millers diesel cleaner in it also, worked wonders for my old cronky diesel, then feed it some BIO diesel, cleans everything out fantastically.

I would check to see if the air filter is clean. If a intercooler pipe is split you should here a whossing noise when your flooring the van you should have a lack of power too.

Another thing is I've not long had a new turbo fitted and I've pulled off the intercooler pipe a couple of times now and oil has always come out pipe making a little puddle of oil on ground the intercooler been steam cleaned aswell

Is it using oil? Sure its not residue left in the pipes after your old turbo shit itself?

I've done about 3k miles since new turbo everything been cleaned twice now and it's using oil but fiat say there's nothing wrong with turbo

Gotta be the new turbo leaking oil past the seals into the inlet. Really can't see what else it can be
