It's to increase the impedance to a suitable level so as not to burn out the amal valve drivers in the ECU.
If you wire the injectors in parallel you decrease the impedance and need to compensate with a resistor, or if your injector/s don't have enough impedance wired as a series circuit then you need to add additional resistance to up the ohms to the desired level.

You'll probably find that one injector is high impedance and the other low and the resistor is there to bring up the resistance on the low impedance injector.
Yes it probably is correct. The resistor rating will be dependant on what your combined resistance is of the connected injectors. 12 ohms is usually the figure to aim for (measured through the wiring harness with the injectors connected).
