Passport Question
My passport runs out September. How much validity does it need to still be accepted? I got a feeling its 6 months , can someone confirm this please?
How long does the process take of having a new one made? And cost? Need it for Easter!!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me

Depends on the country you are visiting.
Mine runs out soon but was ok to use for Spain, whereas Egypt you have to have 6 months left when you want to leave the country! Think its maybe something to do with countried inside and outside Europe.

Duration depends on the country you are visiting but lots insist it remains valid for 6 months after the date you are due to return home (eg USA).
Turnaround time is claimed to be 3 weeks or you can pay more for faster service. 2 years ago, ours arrived within 2-3 weeks of posting the application.
A new/renewal passport costs £42 now, + a £5 fee if you get the Post Office to check your documents are correct before sending them. Can't recall the ins and outs of the US visa waiver fee and the deadline to avoid the superdooper passport they are to insist on.
Lots of info available on
http://www.ukpa.gov.uk/
And you can apply online at
