haw hard to change the plugs?

anyone?

Not hard but I think like mine the upper intake is in the way:wall:

got one to do on wednesday ford quoted him 180 quid:shocked:

Hour or two labour + 6 plugs + vat, i could believe it!

takes about 30 min if you know what your doing

there is two nuts down the back of the manifold and one bolt under the throttle body the rest are easy to get to

done loads

i only lift the manifold a few inches and wedge it with a plastic block the you can get to the plugs but only do it with engine cold or youll burn ya self badly

Little bit fiddly, as said the upper manifold needs to come off, the main support behind the manifold between the bulkhead, you may find removing the OS strut brace is best for better access, there is a 10mm nut on the stud holding some wiring on, remove this nut, and behind it is a 13mm that needs slackening off but no need to remove it completely.

Remove throttle body to airbox hose, disconnect the two breathers, remove the multiplugs from the throttle body/IACV, remove the servo hose (it gets broken easily) , underneath the throttle body there is another 8mm bolt, remove this.

Finally remove the big breather hose at the rear of the manifold, and the bolts holding the upper manifold on, then left up and place the manifold over the front cylinder head to gain access to the plugs, no need to remove cables or anything.

Make sure you renew the gaskets, they are not expensive.

The replacement plugs from Ford are AGSF22F1M, make sure you have these as sometimes they supply a 32 rated plug which is for normal 3 litre/2.5 V6.

I have imported some spare plugs from the states, AGSF22FCM which are the original plugs, no idea why they dont supply them any more.

I would not use anything other than OE Ford parts as they last a long time. I replaced my leads last week and at the same time replaced the plugs again after just 13k, they were like new, gaps were spot on.

done it today 25 minute job piss easy!
