Default Golf Service

my mk4 gti is due a service, as it keeps telling me everytime i start the car, and the engine light is on

right i'm gonna do the work myself as its my daily, but how do i reset the service notification, and does this have anything to do with the engine light being on?

i have also noticed it is sometimes spluttering in the morning and hesitates, fine when warmed up just behaves odly when cold, it has been known to have strange idle fault where it hunts between 800-1500 rpm for 30 seconds before idling normally?

any help guys?

Get yourself Vag Com or now VDCS lite.

Your fault sound like the secondary air inlet. This isnt a big issue but always brings the light on.

is that related to the blowing noise you get when starting the car from cold, sounds like the exhaust is blowing but it goes away after a short while

i think my friend has a vag com disc so i'll ask him
