All tyres used here must carry the E-marking for European type approval. None of those US tyres carry it.
The only one that stands a chance of getting by, although still illegal is the Nitto 555R as it still looks like a road tread.
And despite what guys in the US claim I dont see how it would be possible to get the mileage they claim from the drag radials Unless they just use them until they are through to the wire.
I'd think you could get 2-3k from the Nittos though.

As already stated. NONE of the US DOT approved tyres are legal here. And definately not the DOT drag radials

17" drag tyres i want dont need to be dot rated or anything just for rwyb on a 17x10 or 12 rim what would be best for grip.
ive got a electric line lock from jegs ready to go on aswell

All of the US drag tyres are DOT rated.
And TBH, any of them be it Hoosier, MT or Nitto will perform very well. And certainly well enough to have a high risk of breaking drivetrain lol
If you want grip and grip alone. I'd be buying the Hoosier drag radial

Last pair I bought direct from Hoosier UK was around £480 incl postage. It would be cheaper for you though as you're in England. That's 255/50x16
From Jegs they dont seem bad

But postage will be a killer. They dont weight much, but they take up a lot of space.
