Bernie's (CTS) gearboxes are the best in the business.

I personally know of at least 30 people he has supplied boxes to, and none of them have had any problems.

He's also one of the only traders in the country in any capacity that I trust implicitly and without question.

I also owe him £20

Have no worries about the quality of the product - plenty of people on here will vouch for that.

tony in performance ford this month there is a big write up on gearboxes by G.E.A.R.S. and to be fair it seems a decent article..

and was a pretty good advert for GEARS

but think if i was in a position to have to buy a box that lasts then it would be a CTS one

Bernie, what did you think of the article. Seemed well written and informative to me but then I only read about 7.5 words and didn't understand any of them

Here's my 2p's worth......

Before I start please understand that my post is not intended to disrespect anyone. I am only giving an honest opinion of my experience.

I read the article in PF and to be honest got bored after reading things under the lines of no one else can build a box for an RST that can cope with 450bhp (well I think thats what it said...I maybe wrong but as I never read it all and wasn't too switched on I may not be 100% accurate). To me that's just another typical claim as where is the proven 450bhp RST in question and what evidence is there to support it's power output?

Where as most will know my old Fiesta had a gearbox built by Bernie and did a untold number of 175mph runs day in and day out. Most would agree to do 178.8mph in just over 1 mile has go to be knocking onto the sort of power this chap is talking about.....anyway my point being "Bernie built my box which took my car to 178.8mph and that to me is proven.......we can all talk the talk but the man's walked the walk hence why he has been given the job of building my new trick gearbox which has to cope with more power" Make what you want of it but talk is cheap....results mean much more. I tried to word that well enough to not disrespect the other company as they may actually be very good however until I see something with my own eyes I am not convinced and with Bernie I am fully convinced hence why he is the ONLY transmission company taking my box apart and working on my transmission.

Porkie - I know Bernie very well and one thing I have discovered about him is the fact that he will never 'unless there is a genuine cause' knock down any other competitor....I think he thinks the same way as I do ie..There is no point as we let the car's, transmissions do the talking instead of dissing the competition so I am pretty sure he will not comment to your question.....I may be wrong! LOL

Thanks - Sunny.

I think it was meant as a more generalised feature that hopefully would dispel the Diesel box is stronger myths and things like that although I didn't personally collate that particular one.

As it happens Bernie is hopefully building me a box for my track Fiesta, and I certainly wouldn't want just anyone to do that. Therefore don't have ANY doubts about taking your box to Bernie at CTS your in safe hands and particularly if your going for a B5, your be hard pushed to break it.

1300 for a box with no warrenty that sounds shit. does it come with a quaife diff??

i went through four boxes in as many months, so i went for a cts stg2 with quaife diff and it cost me jsut over a g. Well happy with it totally changed the car, all the power is so useable now and i can boot it without bein scared of breaking something. Oh and it comes with a yrs unlimited warrenty , only thing it dont cover is tooth damage
