falcon xr6 turbo imports

R5FORD, the ST weighs 1317 dry with no fuel, people or oils.
http://www.carfolio.com/specificatio...ar/?car=132693
with the above your way over one and a half tonnes.
and the same applies to the ST regarding real-life 0-60 time's. to say that anyone can get to the quoted 6.8 seconds to 100kph is stupid.

Again with a remap & exhaust still I cant see you shaving nearly 2 seconds off a 0-100 time R5FORD.

Actully Its 1450 with all oils fuel etc according to some websites. They all controdict themselves.
I forgot to add to the list my CAIS & IC
My point is.. it is possible that my ST has beaten an Xr6 turbo yes? I know it can but i want other people to acknowledge this.. But thwn again im not really fussed if people belive me or not The people on here that know me know im a straight up no bullshit guy, They know the cars I own.

so your first comment "my ST with remap/exhaust would piss on one" is quite possibly true.
other peoples comments, "XR6 is massivly tunable to over 1000 brake" is also true.
so really everyones right and we're all wrong
HAPPY FAMILIES???

im not saying your bullshitting, and i do acknowledge that a tweeked ST is very fast. im just saying that a tweeked XR6 would be faster.

Thats true a modifed xr6 would be fast but then my cossie comes out to play

Yes I'd agree that you could hose a BF model XR6 Turbo as they were about a 6.0 second car to 62mph. I still think you'd have trouble against a stock FG with the flat 5.0 to 62mph.
I should also note that in testing the manual have been around 0.5 seconds slower to 62mph due to boost loss on gear changes, which the ZF equipped model does not suffer from.

but your assuming that every person that owns a FG sits there doing launches to get that perfect 5.1 seconds? I actully do that in my ST so i know exactly how to launch it to get the near perfect start.
#46
I am like you though in that I strive for a perfect launch as I try to better my 1/4 times. I've probably completed in excess of 200 runs in the XR6 and have worked out stock you needed to stall it up to 2200 rpm to build boost and release the brake and feed the power gradually.
FYI the independent repeatable 5.1 test in was done on an airfield with 2 people on board and the air conditioning on.
But hey its great to see fast fords on the road all over the world

Correct. Not everyone would. In fact I'd say less than 5% would know how to launch it fast.

That is true mate i love seeing fast fords everywhere and anywhere I intend to get my cossie on the 1/4 sometime next year as im genuinly intrested in what it can do with the mods

I suppose like a dyno its just a tool thats not comparable to the 1/4.
Anyway if you're in to fast fords you should check out the new GT335 with a supercharged 5.0. My tuner is doing some amazing things with this beast. Genuine tune and exhaust has netted an 11.5 on the 1/4. Youtube "autotech engineering" for video.
Have a good evening all.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
OMG. Cat Fight. 5pot, 6pot, 8pot. turbo, non turbo.
I have an FG series F6 310kw and a big turbo escort cosworth with a stage 3, 330bhp i have been told that 310kw is about 415bhp? in my personal opinion they are two completely different cars, with differing carictaristics. Any day of the week i would preffer to drive the escos. However i dont have that luxury somtimes its just too hot and the F6 has aircon. That is ultimately what makes my final decision.

no dramas boys. Just not into the narrow mindedness of the (V8 power), thats all we get here in OZ, if its not a V8 its shit. I will put some pics of the F6 up soon done some mods to it. Not going to do any engine mods till the ford warranty is up on her.

Thought Id chip in here seeing as i have an 04 Xr6 turbo ute in the UK. One local guy sold his ST recently so not had much fun but everytime he met me on the motorway he would try to keep up but the ute just walked away from it. the ute was std at the time.
Handling wise they are pretty good. I chuck it around the back roads of Scotland at some pace and it coped well.
Ive had a remap done by dreamscience but the injectors restricted me to 8psi tune still good for a smidge over 400hp. 60lb injectors are on their way and a 10psi tune will be done.
Only thing i have done is a 3" pipe from ther turbo to a small silencer hidden up in the trailor. puts a smile on my face when it kicks you bac hard and the straight 6 sings.
I have a thing for stiff suspension so poly bushed the whole ute front to rear and installed a heavy dutry whiteline roll bar. Its like a go kart if you could call it that with its size around twisty stuff.
I seen the OP's focus when i was last in thurso a few months back.
If your still interested in importing i have all the info you need as im currently trying to bring over an FPV GTP 355 but its slowly sinking in that area.
Its easier to import a ute through esva testing as its a commercial vehicle and testing is less stringent.
When it comes to saloons it seems vosa want to make it as hard as possible seeing as its right hand drive.

imported XR6T
Mate I have just imported a 2004 XR6T. Cost me £1200 to get it through all its checks and including road tax. I brought my house goods over in a 40ft container which I was able to mine and tue wiges car in to. If you google car importers there are a couple of companies that specialise in the shipping and processing of your car. All you have to do is find a reputal garge either in Ausralia or New Zealand to buy a car from. Mine is a 2004 4 speed auto which is fast at 340bhp at the fly 0 to 62 in 5.1 secs as quoted in the ford hand book. The newer fg's have a six speed in both manual and auto. It is easy to import them. I beleive the guy on here that had the ute has now sold it for £32, 000 not bad for a 2004 model. They are definitely worth importing get lots of people asking about them and turns heads. What I would say is buy a colour that stands out from the crowd

What a load of old tosh this has turned into, including from people who've never seen an xr6t in real life never mind driven one or been involved with companies who tune them.
Cossies are in my blood, and my car has a cossie ybt because I love them and a four banger makes sense in a tiny toyota starlet, but if anyone here thinks anything less than rods / martins cars and similar could live with a reasonably tuned xr6t theyre smoking crack. For what the truly fast cossie owners have spent to get 800bhp and are left with an engine you in reality would not want to drive every day, you can have 1200bhp+ from an xr6t and it will drive every day just like the stock engine ie smooth, creamy and totally tractable / useable. Why? Big engine, 6 cylinders, with enough torque (widely spread) as standard to pull your st backwards let alone when tuned!
As standard they drive just like a saff in terms of controls and dont feel heavy at all, just so much smoother and will give a stage 3 car a few beads of sweat on the road if driven hard. With pure bolt ons that are relatively cheap and dont make the cars any less driveable every day, the only cars that will see which way they went are the big cossie boys. If I was building a road car that I wanted to bin supercars off with in comfort theres no contest chaps im afraid, and I know I wouldn't have to look at a water temp or oil pressure gauge once!

if i had the money i would like to import a FPV FG Falcon.F6.

Sadly in 2016 Ford AUS are closing down and are finishing the Falcon off. Holden are doing the same and the Commodore may also go missing.
