is the silvertop 1.8 zetec block the same as the 2.0 ?? obviously i no the bores are a differnt size but for instance could a 1.8 be bored to 2.1 like the 2.0 can ?

As far as I know they are not the same , the cranks are but the block has different wall thicknesses to suit the different bores

The 2ltr has under piston oil spray jets but the 1.8ltr doesn't,not strictly true as I believe the fiesta RS1800 engine had them, but the normal 1.8 doesn't.

The 1.8 has waterways between the cylinders to aid cooling where the 2.0 does not due to the bore size

If you bore the 1.8 to try and get 2.0 or 2.1 you will go into the waterway

Get a 2.0 block to start with

They are cast 2.0 into the block

cheers guys i did think that was the case. just trying to find one. seem to be rocking horse shit! probably easier to buy a mondeo.
