Default wheels on a van mot question

will my transit connect pass its mot on non commercial tyres even tho there the same size just not 6pr or 8pr?

will the tester bother checking the weight rating on them?

Depend if the tester is clued up,if he has come across a similar van b4 ,with unsutable load rating tyres,he might just check,oh and also your insurance is void for using incorrect ratted tyres

its one of them things that doesn't really matter if they are well shod and legal but i bet a insurance company would wiggle out of paying up if they found out you had the wrong tyres and wheels fitted and they were not told. i know someone who had vosa pull them over as they were in a vw transporter rolling bentley rims and vosa knew the tyres were not going to be commercial.

As matt says, as long as there the same size on each axle, and same construction, not that your likely to have cross plys on then its all good for a class 4 vehicle

Surely it would come down to the use of the van, ie if privately registered ie PLG then you could use car type tyres ?
