how much it cost to get a key cut these days?

would be for a mk6 escort

can i get done anywhere or is it a fords job


(been quite a few years since i had to get a key cut and that was on mk1 fiesta so trimming a lolly stick down worked

mk6 escort will be a pats key so is dearer and reqs programming. have you got the red master key?

yep got the red key

also a black one with a red square

couldnt i just get one cut and strap knackered one with chip thing to the steering couling?

who would cut one of these keys?

Most good key cutting places will do it or ford. If you have the red master programming it is easy mate

gus go pitsea get a pats key cut(black with red square)

then put red key in ignition, watch the red light below the clock, it will stay on for a few seconds

then remove and install the new key turn on the ignition wait for the light to come on then go out then it should be programmed if it flashes quickly then it didnt programme

or wait till i do the cambelt and ill programme it for you

Cost you about £40 quid. Just had a new key for the Orion but they don't do the old style ones, so had to pay the extra and get a blank pats key with light and have it cut at ford.

easy enough to programme

the shop in pitsea is good, think I paid £6 for the fiesta one.

Last one I had was about £4, as said with red master, can programme yourself in seconds, think they hold up to 8 in memory.
