ive just spent the afternoon fitting a tow bar on my escort mk6, it's all bolted on, so i went to refit the bumper, and guess what the bumper wont go on, the bit at the bottom of the bumper (the grille bit) is in the way, i dont have any instructions as the tow bar is secondhand, so im not sure if i have to cut a slot in the bumper, im 99% sure it's the right tow bar, the seller said it fits a escort mk6 h/b, so im a little lost

does anyone know the answer please

erm, either you fitted tow bar wrong or its the wrong tow bar, ford tow bars dont fit with the use of a grinder and filler

When i worked for toyota on some of there old mans cars you had to cut the bumpers to get them to fit.

all sorted now, ive sussed it out but what a bar steward if you damage the rear bumper, you got to remove the bl**dy bumper again

depends on the design of the tow bar.
early ones required the bumper cutting, later ones didn't iirc.
