Checking To see if a car has MOT without V5 or test Cert?

Default Checking To see if a car has MOT without V5 or test Cert?
is it possible, if so, How, I bought an old shed for peanuts without a v5 or test certificate, the bloke said he thought it had ran out, but with dvla you can only do it with the reg doc or mot cert,?
an yes I hpi'd it.

If you know where it had the last test the test center can find out with just the reg number. other wise no if you dont know where it was done even test center need the v5 number to find out.

i don't have the test station info mate. just the car, all hpi'd fine an stuff, but the bloke said he thought it had no mot but couldn't be sure.
