How do you find out who your insured with?

I have van insurance the van has been off the road for ages and since sold i wanna change insurance over to another van but can't find the paperwork tried the bank no joy as no monthly payments go out

I was driving near the old tvr factory there was a stop check i asked the traffic officer he done a check and told me result lol
