Testing the future
loved it when prescott told clarkson to give his brain a chance
very disappointed in james may - i thought he understood engineering but then quoted the supposed weight of the moon car in kg
i'm doing the coast to coast in reverse in summer. had it planned before this came on. lowestoft on east coast for sunrise, then riding the motorbike all day to the west coast of wales (route to lands end is shit) for the sunset.

it's the BBC, they're supposed to blur out any possible placement advertising to appear impartial. However, they forget to nuke the short arse whenever he's ranting on about Porsche's.
I'm short and I like Porsche's, but don't have white teeth, so I'm aloud to say that.

15K+ Super Poster!!
959 is my favourite ever car, and wesome machine. The F40 is the typical school boy poster pin up and i want 3, but the technology in a 959 is incredible.
EVO mag drove one recently and said it felt as good as a current 911 turbo which is astounding since it's 25 years old.
Re. the weight thing, I did think at first that kg's are a measure of mass which of course is fixed regardless of gravity. But, in everyday language we use kg's for weight, and the weight does change so he was right really.

Not sure if I liked it or not but I must say Prescott was a twat, typical labour politician coming out with "we were in charge why you lot all bought new cars" and then blanked jezza when he pointed out they nearly bankrupted the country
And the other thing about people buying more cars, who bought in the scrapage scheame to help our "car industry"? And can someone explain to me how the amount of people who actually have a driving license is still less than the amount of cars that are on the roads and yet we still have 7 million more road users? Don't forget that more people are using trains and buses and cycling so what's with their figures? Or are they all illegal immigrants who have slipped through the net?
Couldn't get a straight answer for want of trying and yet he didn't ask him about the new advert he's in

we do, but we shouldn't really. it's generally acceptable as at the moment the everyday person does not have to comprehend a difference in weight due to different gravity as we are stuck with what we've got, but when you're talking about something that is, it should be clear. you could say 'the equivalent of x kg on earth' or something.

In a car programme that cannot even keep its focus long enough to provide accurate info on cars, expecting accuracy on matters such as reference to mass off planet may be a wish too far!
