being honest why did it need such an extensive engine build at only 50,000 miles and if id spent that sort of money id be fixing the gearbox aswell

I would be wary of anything that needs run in & mapped etc for that money i would want the car all done run in mapped ready to rock ! looks a nice car but not worth the risk

Pete stick your thoughts up, or link to your original post when you'd viewed the car mate... could help members who are thinking about travelling decent distance to view the car.

Cheers,
Grant

yeah thats it and like you say for that money id want to be able to get in the car and drive the thing not having to worry about this and that!

id hate for my mate to get there think with his heart and not his head and then find out its needs another few k spending to sort all the issues out!

when i first bought my 3dr, the engine was just built as it only had 330 miles on it and needed running in, and also 3rd gear synchro was fucked

i bought it as it had a recent build, the map was fine as i got my mate to check it with det cans when the boost was turned up and that engine lasted a year taking a lot of abuse and only died as i was on the motorway racing a motorbike and was on and off the gas so i didnt run into the back of him

This was advertised the last time with a rebuilt engine, then it disappeared and come back up for sale with another fresh rebuild. Was going to have a look at it myself, but it not being run in or mapped put doubt in my mind. Cheap car for the spec, got to think why it has not sold tho.

peteh cant you post what you think of the car as if someone on hear gets shafted then its you that could have prevented it
and i cant see anyone on hear owns it as it would be a known car on this site so there would be no come back to you for as your telling the truth

steve was building the fastest cosworths many years ago
and correct me if im wrong but his own escort still holds the 0-60 record at silverstone / ford fair

the thing with steve is you have to know how to take him

he can be very arrogant and harsh to get on with

but when he aint walking around like a bear with a saw head then he can be very funny and a great laugh

and still builds some of the best cars out there
