yes you can get seal pullers that are like a hook thing. but if im changing a crank seal the easyest way i fined to getting them out is to use a very small drill bit and drill a hole in the seal, then screw a big screw into the seal. grab the screw with some grips and pop it out.

alot less damage thsan using seal pullers IMHO

Make sure you use decent seals, like Viton, or you will be doing it again next month. LOL

true but i bet i can drill a small hole and pop a seal out quicker than you can remove the cover undo the caps change seal refit caps the re torque the caps back down

not that you should be thinking about time when carring out a job like this.

i fined it better to refit the seals with the caps back on any how. as trying to fit em with the caps off tends to pull em up on the piss imo.

i like to do things right myself but either way is fine really just go carefully putting them in that you dont turn the inside out and the spring wire comes off

Just take belt/pullies off, no need to drill a hole in seal, better not to, simply wind a wood screw in there and pull with pliers, soon pop out, do both, and as said use VITON, very well worth the extra few pennies for these.
