Default Mk1 FRS engine into Mk6 Fez

Know that this has been done a couple of times. Just wondering what is needed for the full finished conversion? And possibly a guesstimate of finished article cost?

standard power? what gearbox you using? the frs engine is just a zetec, so essentialy all you need to do is bolt it in, change the flywheel to the smaller 1800 one and fit a 4 puk clutch. Boost pipes and water pipes can be made or bought, the tricky bit will be the ecu and wiring, your best bet IMO is to go aftermarket as this has no imobilizer and is not reliant on any of the cars other systems like the frs ecu. A rough cost, id say if you do the work yourself and use a budget MS ecu it can be done for under 2k, if someone else does it then you could double that figure.

I thought the mk1 frs engine was duratec? Ie exhaust manfold on the rear of the engine?
I was planning on using the standard fiesta ST box, uprated with a quaife. What box does the frs run? I'm only thinking outloud at the moment. If it's a huge mission to do it all I'll save harder and go for the supercharger option. Just fancied something a little different.

Bollocks. That's annoying.

Still.. There has to be somebody with pics, or possibly a build thread somewhere?

the focus uses an mtx75 box, not an easy conversion into the feest, it also has the bigger240 mm fly and clutch. engine is just a forged zetec mate.

Seems the supercharger is the easiest route.. Probably about the same cost-wise. Gutted.
