Default (videos added) 809BHP at the RR shoot out today.

Yesterday my son phoned me to say that my car was entered at a RR shootout on Sunday he had been told on facebook . I had agreed this before the Vmax probs, im still waiting for a new pre-rad & the heat shields etc are not in place so had decided it would not be possible to run. Under pressure from my son I rang Mark & said is it still possible, he replied yes we can run without pre-rad & shields. So today we went to RR & did a trial run.
They had problems as soon as it came on boost it slipped etc. Yes all straps were correctly applied . I had fitted My spare old tyres 215-40-17 on the rear as it was all I had in the time frame my 888's & Dunlops were not suitable .
Will have wider tyres for actual shoot-out & Mark will fit new plugs as we had a slight problem with the ones fitted. Im sure Mark will answer any tech questions. Theirs is a video of it but not sure if Mark can edit it so may have to wait for that.
The event will be interesting a guy with a supercharged 7litre V8 also pushing over 800bhp will be present + Ades Cossie & a few others.

Were the runs done in 3rd gear due to the traction issues?

3rd gear on Rods goes to 125mph and 4th 180mph and this is to high for the RR, This is why 3rd was used.

I take it that's 3.2bar boost not absolute?

Also, looks like peak power at 7300ish rpm?

Awesome!

Its 5k on the road but with the lack of load on the RR and such a big turbo it will add quite a bit of lag to it.

Amazing figures and it holds them for a long time up top!

The engine dyno must load it up even more than on the road then, as I am sure it was on full boost something more like 4k when it was on the engine dyno?

Yes it does, it was about 4.4k at full boost on dyno I am sure Rod has the dyno figs to hand.

At what revs, We also run larger wheels on the road, We used these as the 888 or Dunlop race tyres die in less than 5 seconds on the RR.

That is what is expected due to the looses strapping a car down so hard as we could not get grip.

Going on Rods diff ratio of 3.54

Tremec in 3rd (ratio of 1.28:1) at 8000rpm is 124.90 mph
Tremec in 4th (ratio of 1:1) at 8000rpm is 159.88 mph

Done on the tyre size of 215.40.17, understand what you mean about the road slicks overheating on the rollers as have seen it first hand.
