now then, i have 2.0 zetec mondeo on an R reg, 135000miles, it seems to run fine but only getting around 100 miles out of £20
is this about right as it seems a bit thirsty to me,

Just lately mines been doing about 65 - 70 miles on £20 so yours doesn't sound too bad (although still not good lol). Plugs, filter, oil & oil filter changed about 5 or 6 months ago. Bag of shit, if i had some money i'd get rid.

mines a 2.0 blacktop and did 300 - 350 on a tank of normal unleaded (£70) that was on a 260 mile round trip and the rest was town/local driving.

Ive noticed with fords, if you brim the tank, the first half ( from full to halfway mark ) it will do double the amount of miles than it would, from the halfway mark to the empty mark. weird things.

^^^^ i know, thats the problem, 25ish to the gallon. i got the car about 5 months ago, changed cam belt, filter etc then.
time for a change me thinks.

Not even 4 gallons. Yours works out about 29 mpg. So not bad if round town.

18 miles to work, 1 mile estates -14 miles motorway - 3 miles A roads
pisses me off, petrol so expensive so we all get on the bus, would take 3 buses and 2 hours.
thinking of getting a pug 306 diesel, any thoughts?

29mg isn't that good, my dads 2.0 ghia auto averages 34mpg all on short stuff of about 10-30 miles.

Yeah but it's pug it's french and they have a few electrical issues sometimes and nothing is ever easy to do on them.
