Your getting your tax or you've got your tax?????
If youve bought it online already then yes, but it should have arrived by now, if you haven't bought iy yet then no, but chances are if it's just out they'lll let you off anyway. It's still an offense to fail to display a tax disc, even if the car is taxed though.

No you can not. You can be charged with not displaying a valid tax disc. If you tax it online whilst your current disc is STILL valid then you can drive for upto five days whilst waiting for it. If like you are doing tax it online whilst the vehcile does not have a current disc then you must wait for the new disc to arrive.

There was a rule change a few years ago to make the online service more attractive (it saves the DVLA money):
"If you prefer to tax in the last few days of the month, there is now an exemption from the offence of not displaying a tax disc. This exemption covers the first five working days of the month and allows time for the new disc to arrive in the post."
This obviously doesn't apply in this case, being the 10th already.
In any event, you're unlikely to get pulled if you're all clear on askmid http://www.askmid.com/

Interesting as I've found the site never to be wrong yet!
Normally updates within a day.
I was under the impression the 'failure to display the tax disc' wasn't enforced as strictly due to taxing online now.
Both my mate and I have been pulled with just a confirmation email in the window and police were totally fine with it. Both were after 5 days into the new month as well.

I just found this: http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/inde...anpr-database/
and it seems it's the responsibility of the insurance company to update askmid.

I think you should be able to drive your car if you have paid online and awaiting a tax disc, The reason being:
You bought your tax online and to be valid from that day and you have to wait for your tax disc to arrive 2-4 days, if you dont drive your car/bike due to waiting for your tax disc then thats utter bullshit ! if so then i would want a refund for the time am waiting for the disc to arrive.
