Default dying car carpet?

anyone had any experience dying carpet? im wanting black carpet for my escort but appears they dont make it and was wondering if people have done this and if so how its come out as my dads tried it on a car carpet before and said it didnt come out great so would be good to know? cheers guys

autoglym do a spray for this very purpose it works very well too

i used a aerosol carpet dye on my car and it came out well..only thing was that it took about a week to dry fully..was leaving dye on my hands when handling it..all is good now though and doubt anyone would guess

this is what i used..iirc i used nearly 3 tins on an escort carpet

cheers guys, which type carpet did you die brian as few different types in the escorts, mines the shite one as a 1.1 model carpet so would benifit id imagine from a higher model carpet lol

a black can of spray paint does the job my mate done it and it looked good

+1,one of the boys was a valeter and always did this,results were superb.they even did it on wheeler-dealers the other day to a pug 205!!

Im a valeter, i use black spray paint and it works fine everytime, just leave the doors open for abit after to let the fumes escape.

Autosmart Midnight dye is superb. Used it recently, it is spirit based and dries in about half an hour.

We used to dye carpets all the time and the autoglym is by far the best product I ere used
