Call outs
Gotta love call out week.
Phone rings at 6 call out to peterbrough (1:50hr) away gets 1hr away, phone ring job aborted but still get paid
Who does call out and what do ya get? I get £50 a week retainer and a min of 4 hrs @ time and half per call out obviously more than 4 hrs is paid according.

i get around £150 per week for on call (cover all of wales basically), minimum 3hrs (£65) when called out... not that it has applied over the last few weeks, so far i ve done, 21hr shift (including 8hrs normal working day), 18hrs, 2x 17hr shift , 3 x 12 hrs... this time of year the pikeys love steeling our power cables, its nice to have the extra in your wallet at the end of each week but fuck me it is tiring some times, did 14 hrs yesterday (rest day) to try and get a site back up and running after pikeys stole 25k worth of cables earlier in the year, this time we have cemented the cables in, 13 tonnes of post mix so far lol that should stop them........... knowing my luck they will just rip the doors off the cabinets and just have the 2ft or so that are visible... we'll see

I dont in my job but the guys at my work get money if they are on 'standby'. £70.50 for Mon - Fri & £74.50 Sat - Sun but they only get basic pay if they are called out as they get this money regardless.

im on call every other week at the mo, soon to be one in 3.
They are looking at changing it to one in 8, but that 8th week we will get hammered.
we get a good amount as part of our salary for being on call, but dont get paid for the first 2 hours of every call. after that its time and a half, double on sunday, or you can have it back as time off in leu, until youve had 37 hours in a year then it has to be paid.
been in for 2 hours this morning, annoying really as the majority of jobs take about 2 hrs.
luckily its only one site, and i live about half a mile away.
covering for sickness etc. we get £144 for the week, 4 hrs at time and a half as soon as you are called.
if you get called on a bank holiday its an instant day back in leu or 7.5 hours at time and a half.
thats as a control and instrumentation technician on a food salt plant.
