Default Who is "Foundation X"?

Well this is weird. Who the hell has £75bn floating about to bail us out of the shit?

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Pol...ons_Of_UK_Debt

A shadowy organisation has apparently offered to lend the UK £75bn to clear the national debt and "help save the world", a peer has told Sky News.

Peer Claims 'Foundation X' Will Pay UK Debt

9:41pm UK, Thursday November 04, 2010
Ruth Barnett, Sky News Online
A shadowy organisation has apparently offered to lend the UK £75bn to clear the national debt and "help save the world", a peer has told Sky News.

Lord James of Blackheath said the group, which he refuses to name and refers to only as "Foundation X", is willing to hand over the cash without strings attached.
And the Conservative peer is accusing the Government of squandering the chance to rescue the UK economy and save hundreds of thousands of jobs.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...s-foundation-x

This body, which he calls "Foundation X", apparently has huge reserves of gold bullion-backed funds. On some estimates, these funds amount to more than the entire gold bullion mined from the earth. With such great wealth, Foundation X is understandably secretive and only wishes to discuss the disbursement of its funds with a head of state or one of the "top six people in the world". So for 20 weeks, James investigated the foundation. He came to the conclusion that "Foundation X is completely genuine and sincere and that it directly wishes to make the United Kingdom one of the principal points that it will use to disseminate its extraordinarily great wealth into the world".
Or is this just one gigantic scam? Please send me £XXXX to release £XXXXXXX currently locked away in a Nigerian bank account?

There are plenty of individual philantripists who could if they wish put up 10% of that figure each without even breaking a sweat, like buffet and gates etc, so its certainly possible that such a group exists, however I fail to see why they would consider the UK a good cause when there are millions dieing in africa etc.

I wonder if 'Foundation X' sent the government emails saying they'd won 'X' amount of monies as their email addresses have been randomly picked in a competition held in a shed in Nigeria somewhere and all they have to do to claim their monies is to send back their details?

Funny thing about their "offer" to clear our debts is thats only about 10% of our debt anyway I believe
Still, if they havent noticed that im sure there is no need to tell them.

We actually pay over 40 billion a year in interest on our debts, so all that 75 billion would do is buy us a two year payment break
