Just had a look.

Pity the feature didn't make a bigger deal about it seeing as it's one of the biggest advances in Zetec tuning for some years IMO!

I thought people were saying dry sump kits were Ł2k plus?

http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-gu...duct_group=196

Ł1120 for a full kit? or are there other parts that are needed?

They are , a kit cost from around Ł800 to Ł1500 then you got to get hose at a shed load per meter and then add fittings at a load more and then you have a shed load of other bits to get so to fit a full on good system/set up will cost at least 2k , if you do it for less then you have done well

yeah, aeroquip and related stuff costs a fortune.
Back to plan B. Build it, if it breaks bin it and go YB or another engine.

As you say, from what we've seen that's a bad recipe for an oil pump! Put standard pulleys/flywheel back on with a genuine second hand Ford pump and I'd bet money you wouldn't have another problem at that sort of power.

Although out of interest: what size gudgeon pins are in your rods?

Well it's this months mag, It doesn't say anything about the external oil pump kit apart from it has one...! developed by burton iirc. It's a wet sump kit yes. I bet its gonna be pricey... best part of a grand I bet tho I could be wrong!!

It was working on this already but burtons wanted one asap for that car , so it was not so much developed for burtons but they are the first person to use one , unfortunately the mag didn't cover it to well which was a shame ,never mind , the kit will be around a Ł1000 ( no more) but there is alot in it and it's going to be a buy and install and go kit, no hinden cost ,
The kit will incl

Blacktop steel pan/ modded
Pump bracket
Gear Pump
Pulley+belts
Stainless pipes/fittings
Oil in sandwich plate
Bolts
Std modded front cover
And other bits that I can't remember

So this kit won't fit silver top engines without swapping sumps around etc as it sounds like ur only including the lower half of the sump pan and the front covers will be different to or am I wrong?

For a silvertop you will need to put the alloy part of the blacktop sump on ( it does fit but you have to remove a part of cast webbing in the alloy part of sump ) , and I will carry stock on both front covers so this kit will fit black and silvertop engines , as the kit is designed with both engines in mind , also the kit should let you carry on running air con if you have it

Building a 2ltr N/A of around 240 hp and 8k + revs , putting a set on a luke warm engine reving to 7200 max is pointless.

Its the harmonics of the high revs that is breaking them ...... they need putting eaither on a engine on the dyno witch is going to pull hight revs for a period of time or a race or rally engine....

It should be soon , the one in the pic is ians to test on a turbo engine , as the only other testing is on a n/a engine in time attack , it will fit silver and black tops but you will need to run a black top alloy pan of the pan ( which fits silver tops with a little work ) .
It is aiming at being a drive in/drive out kit if your good with a spanner .

Thanks mate for moving the pics over
