Eddie Stobart-Truckers series
Anyone watch this the last few weeks? I thought it was quite intresting tbh
I knew they was a fairly big company but i dint actually realise just how big they were.
He has 2000 trucks making a delivery every 4 seconds i think they said
Anyone on here (sureley there has to be) work for them?

Yeh that was a shocker at fuel costs. That Isotrack system was awesome as well to be honest tracking where every truck was and whether full or empty.
That bird was alright as well lol

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Is anyone on here going to admit their a Eddie Stowbart spotter, i am a trucker and i have been in a few of their depo's but i will keep my opinion to myself, just think what extra the fuel costs when they put 2p on a liter on diesel.
What i will say is some of the staff in the office needs to get in a truck for a few days to live in the real world, their is no road blocks or ques of traffic on a lap top

sod all the tracking shit, if anyone wants to know where i am or if i will make delivery today or tomorrow they just call me, and in america i can sit on the limiter all day every day, just done a run of 698 miles in 11 hours, thats an average of 63.5 mph, not bad in a fully freighted truck, i so miss the uk, NOT

PassionFord Post Whore!!
amoungst other things it shows which drivers are looking after the vehicles and those who are thrashing them,
will show which drivers are using more fuel.
who is sitting for hours with the engine idling rather than switched off with the nightheater running as that uses less fuels.
Transport manager can learn a whole host of things about his drivers.
will also be able to spot those who are taking un designated breaks/stops.
there's always the safety side of things too. the company will always know where there truck is and will know if its gone off route. easy way to locate a broken down truck.
there are so many things its good for

10K+ Poster!!
I never realised how big the company was either.
The tracking thing is a good idea. It'd be a better idea to track company car drivers as most of them qualify to be the arseholes of the year.

Just 'cos Stobart trucks are shiny and have names don't mean shit. Fair play to the man undercutting everyone to get the contracts, you do what you have to do. But they're hated.

Just come back from Paignton in Devon today and as soon as i got on the M6 from the M42 we kept seeing them every couple of minutes. Most likely going to and from the Crick depot on the M1.
Saw this weeks program on TV and i must say it was quite interesting to watch.

I watched that this week,
Did you notice the bloke who was driving the truck with his daughters name on it when he got his new truck it had his other daughters name on.
If a company as big as Stobart can give a shit about something so small that obviously ment so much to 1 driver they can't be that bad to work for.
