Had Car Washes
Been visiting the pikey car wash places lately (the ones that used to be petrol stations) to get the daily drive cleaned which is a bargain for what you get done for £5.
Would anybody know what type of product they spray on the alloys and bottom of the doors about 2 minutes prior to the cleaning. It shifts just about every speck of dirt of the lower part of the car with just a quick spray from a manual pump. Would love to know what they use.

Its TFR they use and it will strip all the polish of the car and im some cases leave it streaky.
but on the other hand its good for removing stubborn shit very easy..thats why they use it.

your not wrong there!!! I made the mistake on mine by using it (before i knew it was TFR in the pump bottle!) It completely stripped mine! turned it completely pink, took me a good few hours to get it back to red again

I did that on a Red Zafira when I worked at Vauxhall, it looked great until I dried it with the shammy leather , had to spend the rest of that day in the bodyshop buffing the paint up

Team HOTHOT!
The local one does an absolutely sterling job of the truck after I've been out mud plugging - for a fiver it takes them about 30 mins to blast the chassis clean and sponge down the whole truck
Even get a nice air freshener too from them

Bollocks to that, all their aim is, is to remove any dirt from the paintwork and make it clean, they dont care HOW they do it as long as they DO IT

You can get different Types of TFR.
Some are more harsh than others, some you dilute, some you dont.
So, if you get a decent one, it wont remove the protection that a good wax provides.

Any minor scratches can easily be polished out in the summer.

Ive never used a TFR on any of my customers cars, never had a problem removing dirt/grime without it
Its all about putting a decent wax/sealent on there to protect the car from everyday grime
Most car washes are are no better than monkeys
I had a call in the summer from a guy with a black range rover,he took it to the local car wash because it was covered in what he called (bumps) he didnt now it was tar from a new road surface near his house
They cleaned the car but didnt remove the tar and they sprayed some kind of wax over the tar doh!
Took me 2 hours to just to remove the tar,i now valet all of his familys cars every month
I also valet a car for the land owner of another car wash in the next town,he works next door but still calls me in to do his car so they cant be that good!
For a quick wash for a everyday shitter they are fine,if you have any decent i wouldnt go anyware near them

a mate of mine left a bmw with them to valet the interior(leather).
they cleaned it and when he collected it it looked really clean. a few days later the leather went all funny and looked proper fucked, they had ruined it but wouldnt say what they had used.
the kosovan owner offered to replace the interior so he left it with them-came back and they had put a set of grey cloth seats in a car that had beige leather......my mate went mad and the guy just shrugged his shoulders and began talking foreign.never got it completely sorted out and sold the car with the ruined leather back in through auction.
i would never use any of them,in fact immigration raided all the ones in warrington this week and some seem to have shut now.

why would you let them do it for a fiver lol
most supermarket car washes in the petrol stations do a cheapo wash for £3 lol
so thats where my work van goes, when i can be bothered
i had one goon that could barely speak english if i wanted it washed the other day, it is fucking filthy at the mo.
i said how much, he said £10
i laughed and said fuck that, ill give you £5, he said no, cars are £5, van is £10 but he will do it for £8...
i said forget it, you see that thing next to the petrol pumps... £3!
he then goes off on one telling me how crap they are and wont clean the van properly... when some chap thats just has his black 08 plate mitsi shogun washed, and said they done a shit job and to redo it.
i pissed myself and said, i know where i will be spending my £3 LOL
i still havnt washed the van

their just starting to do that down here in Brum now. Tbh, if they took a little more care about products, tools used etc.. i think more people would use them. Then again, in saying that there's one by us that's constantly busy. Must be a little gold mine actually.
