i've also tried contacting martin/reyland for a few weeks now, mail/pm/telephone, no answer.

does anyone know what happens over there?

i know martin has some healt-issues now, but there must be someone else taking care of the buisness?

Its a tricky one beef i see lee's point if mark & martin have a agreement on him making stuff for martin but ppl like you point out there is no point dealing with martin whats the point of martin putting any buisness mark's way?

thats fair enough carlo ,

but there bother traders on this site ??? so if they dont have an issue with each other trading here i cant see why me pointing out one trader from another is such an issue ?

after all its not like marks obscure and no one knows him , his products exacly the same ?? and there selling to the same market , its not like martin has the rights to pf and mark to say ebay is it ?

its like two traders selling the same turbo on here , and on being cheaper than the other would it be such a big issue to point out ones cheaper than the other ??

i consider clive a personal friend , if i can point him in the direction of saving a few quid ... im going to ?

i see your point beef your looking out for a mate & so was lee when he replied to you ! maybe a pm would have been a bit more discreet ! its nothing to do with me i was just looking in & can see why ppl would get the hump reading it.

If it was the other way round and Beef had said Reyland was cheaper, no-one would care. Get a grip of yourselves.

But none of that is relevant to Beefy's friend, is it? All that matters to him is saving himself some money, and all Beefy has done is pointed him in the right direction, and anyone else who views this thread wishing to buy.

i use relyand for the simple reason that he's got a finger in every pie so knows whats what etc, it's the one place where you can get virtualy everything you want

if i was talking about something else, i'd go to someone else who was a known expert in that particular feild

if i knew what calipers i had and what pads were in there i might have had a shop around, but if martin knew what was in there then paying possibly a few quid over the odds is worth paying for the simplicity of his expertise

now, beefy knows stuff about stuff and has offered his onion as to where to get said item, martin has said he was busy, what's the big deal? you'd think that beef has cost martin's business the deficit of a small african tinpot dictatorship the way things are going, when i actual fact it's probably more like a fiver

but

on the flip side, i do agree that certain things would be better said in a more descreet manner and, seeing the outcome here, i think this may be the way someone will be notified in the future, and then everyone will be ganging up on that person calling them sneeky cunts for pm'ing soemthing that they should have posted in the thread

btw, pads arrived today so thanks reyland crew

my interpretation of what porkie said was that you are openly disclosing a (potential) supplier of your business, and a person who you know is a supplier of your competitor to an open public forum.

I know you see it as helping a mate save a few quid - but in future people may see the Parmo Motors Brand on a fuel rail, and go straight to MK Motorsport to save them a few quid - and you are then the one out of pocket and seen as a rip off merchant.

You dont happen to know what clutch cylinders he uses do you

i think the guy was after the bits rather than saving the money, otherwise he would have gone to compare the meerkat.com

I will be doing when I have the cash, as I can not really be bothered getting bits of metal machined up, getting hydraulic lines made up, working it all out and I feel Martin deserves his profit for doing all that for me.

Thats upto Mark not Martin, Martin has to make a profit in anyting he sells to cover his time, wether that is 5 seconds or 5 hours its still time out of his day.

Personally I see the fact that the manufacturer sells on here being a big problem if your trying to sell the same product at inflated prices, I'd look for another source or get Mark to agree that he will only sell to the public at the rrp and not a trade price as its doing his business customers no favours and at the end of the day he will still get the sales without having to deal with joe public as much if at all.

I'm sure this was already covered when Martin offered the billet cam covers then his supplier ( MK ) started selling them on here for less, iirc that is.

Agreed.

It's a conflict of interest really, so unless they agree to price match (either the supplier drops his price to Reyland, or the supplier jacks his price up) I don't think it was a very good idea to sell alongside each other.

That, plus it getting loudmouthed all over the shop, really helpful that

I totally agree, I wouldn't be doing business with someone who does that, plain and simple.

Mark can clearly knock out some nice parts but its people like Martin, A1 and other big names who can sell it as their known trusted tuners, he isn't actually doing himself any favours undercutting them as its them that will get him the work, not the other way round.

Not really, but the cheaper one isn't the guy actually making the turbo's is he? Moot point.
