the seats are a right cunt, they don't go up and down, but they move up and forward and then up and backward in an arc, so if you get halfway up, you are either too close to the dash with your legs or too far away with your arms, all the way down its like being back and little school with your knees around your ears and at the top it's bashing your head off the roof cry:

one more thing, it doesn't handle as the suspension is so soft and wallowly, but the instant you hit a bump it's like driving on rock hard suspension as it throws you all over the place

totaly utterly fucked up, but at least i've got my transit :)

the guy who had it today has refused to drive it tomorrow as it's fucked his back up, so the guy who's got it tomorrow is going to say the same thing :)

I completely disagree with you Dojj.

The vivaro to me is far more comfortable on long journeys, the brakes are far more responsive and it out handles any transit I've ever driven.

I had an 08 plate vivaro for near on 2 years and loved it.
Then my company changed it for a 10 plate transit and it was awful, I've not hated the drive of any vehicle as much as I hated that transit for the 15k I clocked up.
The seat lacked any real support to the lower back and I was in agony after any lengthy drive.

After all my complaining they eventually gave in and just before the 10 plates ran out they got me a vivaro again.
I'm now much happier at work again :D

when working in london the last 3 weeks i spent on average 8 hours a day in my vivaro, not once was my back that painful afterwards!

maybe you lot should try adjusting the seat.

agreed they dont handle, my old dispatch would run rings around it, even on budget tyres!

just had a set of dunlops fitted to my vivaro, and they are shite, in the dry lol. i think its just a vauxhall trait tho, as no newish vaux that i have drivven goes round corners! nearly crashed a vectra at brunters, and a combo van on the road lol

it also a bit gutless, especially if you show it a hill

It must be a London thing then as one of our drivers has refused to drive it and the other one says he won't do long distance in it.

My issue is that I've got 2 fused vertebre in my back so I need the seat further upright than the adjustment in the seat allows so that's my excuse.

And with the other things mentioned, they aren't really flavour of the month.

I drove an older Vivaro with a trailer down through scotland/england and back when collecting a friends car once. Think it was circa 2002/3 100dci thing.

Totally gutless, but comfy enough. Although oddly for a van I thought, absolutely no leg room, and nowhere to rest your clutch foot when driving hundreds of miles. And I'm fairly short !
Still wouldnt say it was uncomfortable though

the seat in mine locks in postion with the headrest against the steering wheel :cry:

i also checked the seat height, and mine is right at the top. and i still dont bang my head, so either your a giraffe, or cant get in a van properly lol.

it DEFFO needs more power tho, as i can run faster :cry:

If you think the Vivaro's bad you should drive a master ye gads. We also have transporters, scudo's vito's and Transits at work. The Vivaro is okay in decent trim but the central seat is absolutely useless.

The vito is a bit pants and the transits aren't as reliable as you'd hope.Quite like the transit to drive, but would probably go for a transporter as a pick of the bunch.

that said, i've got a new corsa as a drive for a few days and it's got all the kit in it, ruise, trip computer, air con, fancy radio and all that bollocks, plus a shift light that says "shift" on it when you need to change up a gear and it's a lovely car, it really is, but what lets it down is that is a vauxhall, and no matter how good it is, it feel cheap and nasty and not very well designed or put together, and the fit and finish of the plastics is terrible too :(

im 6 foot, and my seated position with the seat as high as it will go is like mateys in the 2nd pic...

there is a little lever on the left hand side of the seat that lowers/raises the seat. may i suggest you try this, and then use the big forward/back lever to get the seat in the right place :cry:

but that's the same height as matey sits, so i've not changed anything as far as the seat position is concerned, it just doesn't feel very comfortable in any other position beacuse the seat base won't go straight up or straight down but forward a bit then down and then back a bit and then down because it's on one bit of metal that rotates rathe than on a screw that is adjustable sensibly :cry:

5 years in the 1.9.....ok she had a box at 120 but only needed one bearing and shes done another 40k no issues. Did feel tired so just got my brand new 13 plate one and cant fault it.

You wont get a better van for 12k plus vat, has the best stereo and speakers, is by far the most economical and handle really good. These vans were mass produced thats where you tend to find problems. Multiple build facilties in multiple locations with 100s of thousand produded your bound to get a few bad eggs.

I love mine just a shame it doesnt wear a Ford badge because its far nicer to look at than the transit Sport :)

i have just got a new one,a 115 model, not done much miles in it yet though it does seem good to drive and comfortable,nice radio,air con,elec pack ect...

took nearly 100 litres of fuel to fill it up though!

The new 13 plate vivaro I was recently given and have done less than 400 miles in has bad the seat collapse

Mine came with electric windows and mirrors and, strangely enough, a heated rear screen button which works, but its a refrigerated van so doesn't actually have any back windows :cry:

And they don't heat up the wing mirrors either

And it's got a ridiculously long 6th gear, it's doing 40 mph at 1200 rpm :cry:

Pity the fuckers limited to 65 though :(

I drive one of them, easily do 100 miles plus a day most days all over Essex and its a cracking van, everything's electric, loads of room, seat moves in all directions. Even has an aux jack on the stereo for iPod! :top:
