I have run a virus scan on my laptop and it comes back ok. But when i try and upload photo's, i click upload and the box comes up with lick c drive, data stick etc then it just crashes my laptop, then i have to remove the battery to shut it down then re start. its doing my head in.

Any help would be great,

Have you tried system restore from a few day's ago or a date that you know the laptop was ok? go to start then acessories then system tools then system restore follow the prompts and let it run  worked for me before

Sounds like either the app or one of the individual files might be causing a crash.

1. Try individual files to upload, see if that works.
2. Try a different method of uploading, different app, web browser etc.
3. Open your Eventviewer (eventvwr in the run box) and look in the application and system logs for events around the time the machine crashes, see if you can narrow it down.

There are some good utilities at auslogics.com you can use to clean up your machine and see if that helps.
