Right I have a mk5 Fiesta which is fine when indicating right but if you indicate left or press teh hazzard flasher you get a screach from the stalk and the fuse promptly pops.

My initial thought was a dodgy stalk so my mate got another set from a scrappy but these are the same. I had half f it in bits last night but couldn't see anything immediately obvious.

Anybody have any suggestion as to where to look or common faults? Could he be really unlucky and have picked up a 2nd duff set of stalks?

Had the fault on a Mk4 once and new Ford stalks solved the problem and 3 years on the fault hasn't reappeared.

Have to admit to being a little stumped now

i cant remember, but isnt there a relay on the back of the stalk for the indicators ?
if so try changing the relay.

You might have a short across one of the bulb holders/bulbs themselves. Try unplugging light units one at a time and wee if that changes anything.
