Focus st225 5 pot who does the best map ?
#2
Dreamscience are very popular on the focusstoc forum. Lots of maps to choose from and a helpful company from what I hear. I have the Mountune map that Ford do as a dealer upgrade, includes a new k&n panel filter and pro alloy (from memory) intercooler. A little expensive but works very well, keeps the warranty with Ford and an easy 260bhp.

Dreamscience! Mine is a program for the laptop, plug it into the obd socket and there's 5 different maps for you to choose from and you can change them about as often as you like. It works as a fault code reader too. Also turns things on like the shift light on the dash and if you choose to decat it, then you can turn off the fault code from the second lambda that you would normally get with a decat so you won't get the engine managemnt light on.
You can buy it on a handset that you plug in a bit like bluefin but its a bit more expensive. The transformation is huge, I loaded the standard map back on the other day and I thought I'd broken it it was so slow

Mark,
From my experience, the ST runs right on the edge of DET due to its closed loop ignition stategy.
The trouble is, as you know, for the closed loop system to work, it has to produce a small amount of DET to work out where the level is in real time and is perfectly normal !
This is probably something you know anyway but just thought I would mention it for others to read.

The ignition program for the Dreamscience maps are unchanged from stock even though the boost is increased,
I had heavy dett on boost biuld up at 1600rpm where I had to remove 4dg to reduce it and 2dg across the full boost map, it was horible on the head phones and I am supriesed they are not dropping engines, all I can think is they are relitively low powerd for the engine size and this is how they live.

This does sound like Ford actually mapped the car for full power then detuned them for insurance and longevity purposes.
I suspect the det you are hearing is the normal closed loop ignition action rather than over zealous mapping which explains why the engines dont melt !
It is horrible to hear I know as we all taut any det on a YB for example is a bad thing.
Nice graph anyway

That graph is testing the new spec r intercooler over the pro alloy one.

It has my map on it and a full magnex exhaust inc a performance cat, The black line is the pro alloy intercooler and the red line is the new Spec r one, nothing else has been done yet but I will start some real mods soon.
