Why hasn't my Mrs iphone been activated??
My wife upgraded her phone at the weekend at the Carphone Warehouse on an o2 contract but its still not been activated. O2 are telling her its something the shop haven't done right and the shop is telling her its something that needs to be done by o2. To make matters worse her old phone has been deactivated meaning she now has no phone at all
Anybody got any ides ?
Cheers Gaz

Has it been connected to a pc and opened itunes? it should activate on there?
If not surely it would be 02 that should be sorting it, as the phone is from 02(via cpw). Id be getting onto 02

Someone will sort it, whether its the shop or 02, they have to at the end of the day. Just say your not leaving until its sorted because your wife needs a phone for work(or something)

cpw, as the peeps selling the thing, should be the first port of ear bending to get it fixed
when i bought my iphone (3gs) the guy in the shop got it out the packet and got everything working for me and made sure i was happy before i left the shop, with the instructions to make sure it was fully charged before i used it properly, and that's the sort of customer service i'd expect, even with the grief
my brother on the other hand thinks he knows it all and is the most horrible customer you could hope to meet, but if things go well he does buy top of the line stuff and if you are selling top of the line stuff you should know whats what

You're right we should have got all this sorted before we left the shop but we were in a hurry. We are moving house tomorrow so things are all a bit up in the air at the moment which is why we wanted to sort this out at the weekend !!

even better, you need a phone to call peole while you don't have a landline, who's going to foot the bill if it all falls through because someone pressed the wrong button? or your furniture gets lost? or the bank tries to call you to sort things out but can't?

I'm very good at standing at a counter and complaining (loudly) until I am blue in the face. You should do that too, it gets results as nobody likes a disgruntled customer in their shop for too long.

fair play, but making a racket in the shop is going to mark your name in the shop so if you just talk sensibly most will be able to help you out
in saying that, making a noise and asking to see the manager sometimes resluts in "the manager is busy" to which you reply "well then his second in charge can sort it out" to which they reply "that's me" to which you reply "well then you can close my account because your service is shit"

Mine took a day to activate due to the amount of people registering theirs. O2 told me to keep switching it on to plane mode and back. If not take it back and get them to sort it

I just had the same problem but fixed it but holding the home button and the on/off button until the phone turns off and on again (Apple logo). Works perfectly now.

but in this instance, i would have been making a noise as soon as there was a problem, not waited a few days for them to "get it working"

exact same thing with my sisters.
It turned out that O2 customer service hadn't pressed the activate button.
They are useless and she wishes she'd never changed from Virgin mobile.
