Amazing what RS's are out there hidden away
Yesterday I was looking in a unit with 4 saffs in it, a mk2 xr2 and a cortina, in the other unit was more but I couldn't look in.
Then there's another bloke in Preston with a private collection, low mile Es cos 3 door etc. Rs1600i, one in every colour.
Makes me wonder how many there are stashed away

there's meant to be a black RS500 near me, and the only miles its ever done are from the dealer to where it is now, is in dry heated storage, on axle stands, D40's removed from the rims and stored so they do not dry out and crack up, and the rims are in the boot of the car.
only know of it, as my pal worked for local dealer, and they went up to service her every year, ensure it was running correctly, but has never turned a wheel since 1987.
tried tracking the owner down for a RSOC member, but the dealer has since closed and finding the staff that were in the know has proved difficult. be an excellent find if it ever came out......

These kind of cars were made to be driven, and driven fast at that, not sat in a lock up gathering dust. The owners may of well as gone out and bought a unlimited Bus ticket and let someone buy their car thats going to use it for its intended purpose. Dont get me wrong I do enjoy keeping my cars as clean as possible and as straight as possible but I also enjoy taking them out for a good blast and really blowing the cobwebs out.

Funny enough, i was thinking exactly the same thing. I would expect the 'haul' to be worth a ludicrous amount of money and there's too many 'orrible cunts about on the net.

I know of an Escort Cossie that has been there since birth (or very close to)
Its sat in a showroom, and the guy has no idea what he has.
Might have to go back down, as its been a few years tho

It Wasnt Me!
It is amazing how many were bought and stored without being used, and they still pop up all over the place.....how many people do you think have bought a brand new focus RS and never used it, stored it and are going to keep it for 20 years?
Either that, or everyone who bought an RS back in the day got the jail !

Just can't understand why ppl would do that. Good chance they will get run down by a bus and never have driven it or realised it's value. What a quality way to spend your cash..

love hearing about old Fords being discovered again, and gettin a 2nd lease of life. I think the stories of why they were parked up are dead interestin.
Also agree to there being loads still out there waiting to be found....everytime i go past a garage that looks like its not been opened for ages i'm thinkin whats in there!!
