alternatively use a product called rain-ex on the outside and fog-ex on the inside and you can do away with the wipers as well from what i've been told.

i still dont see the advantage

surely the heater matrix removes heat from the engine cooling system even if its jsuat a small ammount this will make coolant temps rise no ?

yeah i know your after reducing the weight and all but if its gonna be used in winter then imo id keep it.

the heater didnt work in the missus old ZX and it was fooookin freezing, and a bit dodgy to drive as the window was fogged most of the time.

are you gonna be drilling holes in the door frames and getting plexi glass?

thatll save a bit more weight

GRS intercooler mk4, Rad and oil cooler, will have hole behine number plate so can take it off for track to enable more airflow

not cutting the bumper like yours, i think its

Fudgeass, the car is COMPLETLEY stripped, polycarbonate side windows, fibreglass bonnet etc

Change to a non heated screen, they surely must be lighter than the heated ones.

yeh but im SERIOUSLY thinking bout moving it to the boot !! , more room in engine bay, no boot floor but braced so less weight good airflow and should work a treat, does for a 700bhp escos and a 580bhp Mk1

sounds good mate

but if you move the rad to the boot, you will need more hose, and more water, so will end up being fairly heavier than keeping the matrix lol

if you're using an alloy rad the cooling performance will be better anyway, so i really wouldn't worry about the effect that removing it will have on engine temps.

do you know how big a heater matrix is ?

its fooking tiny

what a lot of fooking arround for hardly any gain

if you want an all out never to be used on road track weapon with no dash etc then maybe but id just leave it in

tbh if a heater matrix is gonna make that much difference. theres something wrong , surely theres a better why way like keep creature comforts top up with less fuel (ie enough for the track time you have ) keep up the good work radders anyway

Run some air duct pipe from the engine may into the car. Like on old carb cars where it warms the air filter.

I have no heater in my 100E but have never had any issues with the screen misting up, it only goes out in the sun anyway! But when I have been caught out I just open the window a bit and speed up, the wind then clears the screen

run a length of pipe from the exhaust into the car, sit in the car & leave
it running, then see if your windows steam up

easy

not sure if it would desteam the windows,,,,,,

but it would rid the world of your stupid fcuking posts.

why not just get a sensible car thats road legal, rather than a 1000bhp
escort turbo that is powered by your mouth rather than an engine
