Default FAO Stu MSD.. RE Closed Loop fuelling

Looks like you were right mate! I managed 64miles to that tenner, although i dont reckon thats too bad, as well as the top end fuel set up, it saw 140ish twice on the way home, the rest was just sat around 90mph.

A tenners deffo goin a lot further, I might be able to cruise to a show or two now and still have enough money left to get in!

Im Gonna do constant mpg as discused in a while, will pm you results, cheers again for your efforts pal

Quality quote

So 64miles on £10 of optimax and that included a top end setup by me on the M-way and 2x 140mph blasts by you on way home.......

Wonder what that equates too in MPG?

I still dont reckon anyone will ever find out what they do at 60mph ish cos its just too hard to stay there ina cossie

Cruising at 80ish id be dissapointed if you returned less than 350miles on a full tank TBH pal.

The thing is, everyones driving is different so its VERY hard to quote fuel economy figures. ROB S from this forum got something like 34mpg on the motorway on his greys and T4 closed loop and IAN M reported 32 on his greys and T34 i think, so there at least are some independant figures that are printed on this forum somewhere...

Im just waiting for the call from Sonic;
"Stu, ive run out of fuel on the M6 doing that test"

That would be a 'typical' tank - run to the girlfriends and back (100 miles of 80-90 ish), then maybe a trip or two to work (B roads but in traffic), then the rest would be my local tarmac rally stages!

Ah, not at all as bad then, as level throttle is where fuel economy is found, so i thought you were refering to 276 miles of solid motorway

Im just waiting for the call from Sonic;
"Stu, ive run out of fuel on the M6 doing that test"
you just know it will happen. 34 mpg i got which is pretty fookin good. the question is if you have two cars same spec on greys, running both at same speeds one doing 15ish mpg which isnt uncommon for greys and one doing 30ish mpg [ closed loop ] where is all the extra fuel going? bore wash? fouling valves and pistons?

Well that was the most boring thing ive ever done!

Trip light came on , put a tenner in and jumped on the motorway......dont ask me why, it just seemed like a good idea at the time , however, the results were satisfying.Sat at an average of approx 65( never below 60 and never above 70), on a very windy carrigeway it managed 94 miles!!, (not a hundered i know stu but damn close!), until the trip light came on again.So not so bad, now all thats needed is a chip for the human brain to make this enjoyable! although i am looking forward to the savings once summer is upon us and its travel time, .

Right, guess its time to see how much fuel i can use in 94 miles now to even out my sanity!!

Many thanks for the sig stu , and the person you must have got to help you! , it looks brilliant pal
