abs light on. help
hi all. my abs lights on and abs has stopped working. had it checked and the error is showing the abs ring.
so i need to replace that. at first i thought that its only the abs ring i need to replace but then i was told that i need a whole cv joint as the abs ring is apart of that.
i ordered the part and no abs ring on it. supplier checked with fords and its defo the correct part so now im stuck.
can i buy just the abs ring. can anyone help really stuck with this on.
cheers

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
The ABS ring is an integral part of the CV joint, if your car has ABS and the replacement CV joint does not have the ABS ring then it must be the wrong part.
I'd go back to Ford and get them to supply the right part or get your money back and go elsewhere.
If you put up the make and model of car someone on here might be able to get you the correct finis code and then you can just order against that. Takes out the 'numpty parts guy' factor..
HTH
EDIT : have you taken the sensors out and given them a good clean? Might need to get at the ABS ring with a wire brush too. It might just be so covered in crap that the sensor can't pick out the teeth on the ABS ring..
much cheaper than new parts..
