i got a 32" samsung in my bedroom. i love it. its so so clear on HD sky channel. serious Matt you will like it a lot. there so thin too. its like a window on ya wall.

daveandhelenturbo Feb 1, 2010 10:12 PM

im looking at the 40" samsung led, so hope to have it soon..........

Lambchop Feb 1, 2010 10:14 PM

Are they much more expensive than plasma or lcd?

GUZZLER Feb 1, 2010 10:16 PM

bugger,,, i talked myself out of getting one (nothing wrong with the plasma we have) then the missis starts talking about getting one......... i might wait a while & see if they drop much in price!

Diamonds. Feb 1, 2010 10:19 PM

i paid £700 for my 32". this years new TV will be 3D TV's. so dunno if you wanna wait around for that. If you got Sky HD it will be free when they do there channels.

think the 3d tvs are about 5k at the mo though

GUZZLER Feb 1, 2010 10:28 PM

got sky HD, i'm trying not to spend to much money at the moment so i think i'm better waiting to see if they come down, best price so far is 2k

Diamonds. Feb 1, 2010 10:31 PM

id probably wait too if i was you too. they drop so quick these days when something new comes out. i was looking at a LCD 32" jan last year was £799 by xmas last yr it was £300.

Bullett Feb 1, 2010 10:35 PM

i did a lot of research and ended up back at a panasonic plasma 50 v series.
the led looked too fake.like everything was floodlit.attracts you because its bright but it doesnt look real. and they arent oled either.they are side lit not back lit.

an genuine oled will cost you round 5k up

been looking around at em too ... so much clearer picture wise, my preference was the samsung tbh but worth looking around as everyone has different eyes ...
would i get one .. yes i would ..

B16JUS Feb 2, 2010 07:08 AM

there are a lot of haters around, ive got a samsung led and love it also got a samsung plasma and the led is much better

strongly recomended plus also its really thin so looks nice on the wall

Bullett Feb 2, 2010 07:12 AM

oh and the speakers are shite in them cos they are too small.i was appaled at the level it went up to tooquiet

B16JUS Feb 2, 2010 07:48 AM

speaker are fine on mine, the same if not better than the lg i had before.

remember if you looking at a tv in a big warehouse like currys it will have to go louder and will look smaller as your in a massive room.

A friend has a 55 inch samsung LED and i watcht it a lot and it's a cut above my 42 inch samsung plasma in every way.

cossiejsy Feb 2, 2010 08:36 AM

I have 46" samsung LED and its is excellent i paid £1200 for it in december 09

MadMac Feb 2, 2010 09:06 AM

LED's look great. But to be honest, until the prices start coming down and either plasma or LCD is phased out, I wouldn't look at buying one. They just seem so goddamn expensive.

If you can afford one I would get one.

But the next thing is already out to replace it, OLED TV's

They are so thin they think they might be making newspapers out of it a-la Minority Report

led are mint i bought a 42inch samsung in the sales for 1k it is way better than any plasma or lcd tv's picture is stunning on hd and ps3 is another world all together

RichieST Feb 2, 2010 10:43 AM

LED tv's are actually LCD screens, but lit by LED's instead of a flourescent tube. Very good picture, but definately wouldn't give up my plasma for one!

B16JUS Feb 2, 2010 10:51 AM

if you forget what they are called led lcd they could be made of cardboard for all i care.

they are thin so can blend in more, the picture is fantastic esp using hdmi etc

the only thing you can knock them on is they are expensive but new technology always is

I was looking at them on Sunday.. There is a definately difference between the led and LCD etc.. But I never tend to buy newish technology until it gets to about 3rd generation so they can iron out any little bugs. They are quality bits of kit though. Would love to get 3 led monitors for my pc to run eyefinity

I've got a 32" samsung led in the bedroom and its by far the best tv i've ever had , i've got a samsung 42" plasma in the living room and it walks all over it for picture quality .
Hooked it up to a samsung blu-ray and i dont think there's anything out there to rival or beat it for the price .
I paid £720 for mine last year sometime when they were £1000 normally , and my blu-ray was £120 when normally £180 .
Oled's will be the next best thing but i think they've really struggled with life span on them , only time will tell .
