Opinion on this differs and it really does come down to opinion. Pretty certain mine is single pass and my car's proven itself and when it comes out again I hope it should prove a lot more.
The Airtec stuff is very cheap n cheerful and heavy but chatting to Chris Todd it seems they do quite a good job. If money is tight it's certainly worth a bit more investigating

In theory the single-pass cooler should work better, but in the testing I did, at all but the very highest power levels, the air was cooled much more effectively with twin-pass. I also never really measured any significant pressure drop, it was outweighed by the greater performance of the cooler in any case.

Twin pass is essentially just the same as having a cooler twice as long and half the cross sectional area.
If you want to cool a lot of air a little bit, you are better off with a single pass, if you want to cool a little bit of air a lot, you are better off with the twin pass.
What constitutes a little bit or a lot, is obviously effected by the physical total size of the cooler.
If want to cool a lot of air a lot, then you just need a fucking massive intercooler (RS500 one for example) which does both.
So its all about which compromise suits you better.
Whats the application clarke? might help people give more advice.

I think that either will be fine for that initial application TBH mate, they are both overkill for 200bhp ultimately.
Given the way you like to play around and try new things etc, then looking to the future with upping the power later on I would say go with the better flowing single pass one, and if you get some intake temp issues with it, it will give you an excuse play with water injection, and at least you know that it will not hinder flow.
