No its worse. It came off the boat like this. The terminal workers don't care about anything. They just race the boat full. Don't care how its done. We get damaged trailers from the UK all the time like this. Cost a fooking fortune to fix it.

We go to the terminal and leave the trailer there. Pick up a new one and leave. The terminal workers heave there own units and load them on the boat. And believe me. Thats not going slowly.

We have loads of damages from ferry's. They turn to early and hit another one without noticing it etc. Lift them to high and hit the boat like that cooler. We had 2 totall loss trailers. All cos of them. The wreck it if they can.

We have had plenty of damaged tanks come from Ireland. I picked a powder tank up 1 day and it hand rail was pointing up in the air and all bent. Think they lifted it too high on the fifth wheel and hit the roof of the boat

ive got class 1 and class2,you can do them both at the same time and its usually between 3-5 days depending how good you are with test at the end, both licences, tests medicals and tutions cost me 1600 all in,i passed 1st time,if you fail i think its 270 for a retest.
if thats what you really want to do just try a week out in the uk 1st,sorry to piss on your dream but its shit, really shit, but you sound as though you might be a 'born' trucker, some people love it and wouldnt do anything else.
ill let you go on bottom bunk then, but dont blame me if top bunk gives under my weight and crushes you
i dont know of any national companys but i did my licecnse with tal training on sheffield, they were good, they had 4 of our lot and everyone passed 1st time.
as for jobs mate theres that many drivers out of work that the big firms have got their pic, you'd be better finding a little local firm that would take you on,thats how i did it anyway, got expericne under me belt then fucked off to a bigger firm till i got laid off, bigger firms tend to be more well run and have better methods of work, thats my experience anyway.
theres a lot of firms that go over the water now,so if you're willing to go you shouldnt have a problem
recession has hit the tipping indurtry hard but my mate who drives a tautliner has never slowed down.
