I ducked in at the local shops on my way home and parked in a bay next to a Corsa. As I was walking back to my car there was a guy getting into the Corsa with his 7 or 8 year old. The kid whacked the door against the side of my car 4 or 5 times. Once is an accident, twice is stupid but that I felt took the piss so I said to the guy "Excuse me mate can you watch my door please?"

I though he might at least get his kid in the car more carefully or even just apologise. No such luck I was greeted with a torent of abuse and "it's only a fucking car mate, get over yourself"

I was absolutely gob smacked . Not a great reply but all I could come back with was "I guess owning a Corsa you don't actually aspire to much do you and the dents and scrapes can only improve how it looks" and got in my car and drove off.

Really hacked off now

a lot of people only take notice of a verbal violent warning i'm afraid,being nice and saying please don't do this or that these days is asking for abuse back at you.

i did this to a new bmw,i was in a van and parked nice in my space,go away and come back and some twat has parked a bmw so close i had to get in through the passenger side door,i looked around when i was getting in and when i shuffled across into the drivers seat i opened the van door and smashed it into the bmw about 15 times as hard as i could and then looked at it and the dent was so big it needed a new quarter panel.

best bit was my transit door was still the same

Sadly seems to be the attitude of plenty of people nowadays, fuck all respect for anything....and there's nothing that makes your piss boil more than when someone can't even acknowledge they've done something wrong and at least apologise! somthin similar happened a little while back to me..

sat in a hire van outside a main dealer, just about to get my van back from service..

some old-ish bloke pulls up in the next parking space, jumps out and BANG' his door into the hire van....
so i got out knowing that if i give them back a damaged van, i'll get charged.

I didnt say anything, just looked to check he hadnt dented the van...

If thats the guys attitude you wonder what sort of state his Corsa is in mechanically.

There's a guy like that at my work with a Corsa, always something wrong with it, right now 1 brake light is out. Told him that about 4 months ago and not been done.

Best of it is a few years ago the cops pulled him for having a light out and found he didn't have an MOT, he'd totally forgot about it, was overdue by about 5 months but he wrangled his way out of that one.

last person that parked so close to my focus the mirrors touched i had to use the passenger door got a shock. . I got in moved over got out my door house keys hanging from my back pocket dragging my arse hard againts their car making sure mine had no marks. It was green and looked like a 5 year old attacked it with silver haha

What is the differance if a person hits the door of your car when driving into a parking space causing a dent to it to that of hitting it repeatedly with their door and causing a dent .albeit a smaller one.
You would be more likely to ask for insurance details in the first instance but not for the door striking it.
If I am in the car and that happens to me , rest assured I will demand insurance detail or the old bill will be called.
As it stands, some fucker hit the wifes car and fucked off, leaving me with a nice dented door to fix out of my own pocket.
Also, while I agree that car park dings are a pain in the arse, it doesnt make anybody a hero when they do it back out of spite like what is written in previous replys, IMO it makes you just as bad a person.
I daresay, had you returned to your car to find a few scrapes and dents on you 1\4 panel, it would not be too long before a post was made on here about some low life cunt that hit your car and fucked off, that is merley my opinion.
