sorry but the BMW's are starting to look to jap looking, and i don't mean skyline, i think look to boring, yes they go fast, but if you take the badge off, would most people know what it is, for the money i think there are better cars out there, but then i never have liked BMW's, so now i expect to get shot down in flames for knocking the M3

Colour looks great as do the dark wheels , very nice car & good choice. The tinted windows are chav though, i hate tinted windows !!!! Took me ages to find an M5 without pimped windows. Lots of people like tints though.

have driven a few older BMW's and hated them, maybe it drives nice and fast, but the look is what i'm on about, just looks like a sporty rep car, i don't know if the japs are trying to look like a BMW or BMW are trying to look jap, but they are all just wind tunnel projects, i think the americans have finally got the look right, they are styling cars to look great, and perform, not everyones cup of tea, but go down the road in a new mustang, camero or challenger behind any M3 and see who gets the more looks, and for the same sort of money you got as much if not more RWD fun. you just for now have to put up with LHD, having had a mustang in the uk its not a problem,
not everyones cuppa, but they are sexy to alot of people,

Once you have driven the M3 you will not be bothered how it looks lol , I had a drive in one and was blown away with how good it is
That said I'm a BMW fan so Im biased .

Cant wait till the snow shifts and I can get it back up my road
To answer some of your questions....
Economy - Did the drive mainly in 7th gear and averaged 24MPG - A lot less than my old (and not slow) 330D E90.....ouch
The White Edition is a wife's car....have you seen the white interior!?!?!?! YUK
The Editions are only available for 6 months, but are not limited to numbers or numbered. The changes between the Std M3 and Edition M3 are cosmetic apart from a 10mm drop in ride height and some of the Editions are shod in Contis rather than Pilot sports or cups (Optional), Mine has Pilot Sports.
It was a fair road trip, was so excited when i got back that I could not sleep despite being up to over 22 Hours Driving...but the afternoon of the next day I was fooked! haha
Also watching Lamp"UmBongo"Chop trying to drive my new motor up the very slippery hill was funny (in retrospect!) - 1 Million Percent concentration registered on his face!!!!
Hope to have it at croft - I sold my RS2000 Mk2 to afford this beastie so it better be good on track hahahaha!!

I have a mk1 focus rs in the garage mate all tucked away for the winter & a 57 plate fiesta tdci 1.6 for work. Sold the mk2 had a few cossies ect scince then cant keep nothing. I love mk2 escorts always will but dont think i wouuld own another one parts are way too expensive & hard to get now.
The new m3's sound awesome costly for servicing & if its not already had it make sure you get the run in service roughly 1200 miles. If i remember correctly its chargeable to the customer now used to be included in the sale when new but a law came in i would have too find out more about it.. I was out in one before christmas it was a manual one twitching in 3rd gear in the dry loved it. The tech's love the smg ones they say the gearbox is awesome i have never had a shot but i will soon

Iain,
Nice car mate, as u know I was over the moon when Chop told me u had decided to get one.
Couple of quick points though
1. It takes less than 9 hours to drive to JAPAN... wtf took u so long to get down there? Did u die on the way?
2. How the lordy fvck did you manage 24mpg in the m3?!?!?! I have never ever had better than 18, even using cruise control, Perhaps u need to tell people quite how slow you went.
3. Ignore point 1 and 2, the car rocks, can't wait to see it :-D, glad the run in mine convinced u!
Cheers
